Today

Today has been a really long day.
I have been bullying my school, and trying to make them say yes to a program they wanted to say no to. And the deadline was suppose to be tomorrow. And I have been so stressed out by all of it.
But then there is a light at the end of the balcony I keep trying to fall off of. They may yet accept my crazy ass, and let me experience one of the most incredible opportunities of my life!
If, of course, my application is accepted by the program itself...
But anyways, what a crazy, crazy day.

A very light beginning

This is the beginning of my travel book. I wasn't sure how to start it, and then I was like, screw it! And started in on the second page! More to come later! :)

Inspired by another culture

So I was originally going to work on a self-portrait painting for the next art piece for my portfolio course. I still want to do that painting, and I really don't want to rush it, so I have decided to do another project for the next art piece. I am going to make a travel journal in my Maya style.

My trip was 12 days long (very busy 12 days!) and my book is 12 pages front and back. Each page will represent a day from the trip with the front and back covers combining to make the two days of travel between Boston and Guatemala. I will upload pictures as I go along! :)

The Highlighter

Ok. This is absolutely ridiculous. I worked on one of my portraits today and when I went to put in the finishing touches I couldn't find the red highlighter I use. I have taken my studio apart looking for it. I even moved my heavy desk to look behind it; not there. I think someone stole my red highlighter.
I mean SERIOUSLY!? Who steals a highlighter? I use only one type of highlighter in my Maya Codex so the whole thing matches from beginning to end. So I need that highlighter!!

I have realized, though I am mad at the thief, it is a point that would have come up when the highlighter ran out of ink anyways. I have to buy more. Thats the other thing that has frustrated me this morning. I went all over online trying to find just the blue and red highlighters to purchase. i can buy the blue just fine. I can get boxes of a dozen for only a small price. The red, however, is a problem. To get the red it seems I have to buy the 8 packs with all the available colors rather than the red alone. Why can't I find just the blue and just the red?

So now I am missing my red, can't finish my new portrait and have to pay for two more of the highlighters I don't use.

Anywho; anyone finds a red highlighter I could use one...

Wow... What a crazy month!!

So I haven't been around because I have been VERY busy! I just got back from an amazing trip to Guatemala! At this point I am still in shock from coming back, so I am going to purge all my experiences on here over time. To start with, here are some pictures!! :)
